I remember being a little intimidated to attend my first yoga class in a studio….with other people….
Not only was my arm super weak and stiff so that I couldn’t even get into downdog, but I wasn’t fluent in yoga and didn’t know the names of all the poses or know what to expect or how a class went. I couldn’t do a headstand!
Thankfully, what I realized, and what you will realize too is that yoga is full of people just like us, people who want to feel better physically and mentally. They are also a bit stiff and tight and have poses that they struggle to hold and get into and who do not headstand. I don’t cue headstand.
If you have found a studio or a class where this wasn’t the case, keep looking. We are out there. There is a yoga community for you. And when you find it – oh, it is an amazing thing.
